Wise Heart's study group has been working with the concept of equanimity this month. When we move through the world with equanimity we remind ourselves that light and darkness, joy and sorrow are all part of our human condition while on this earth. While we celebrate our joys and grieve our sorrows, we maintain a sense of balance, not allowing ourselves to become thrown off kilter by either state because we know that whatever is now will soon fade. As we celebrate this year's solstice, then, let's welcome the light and resolve to enjoy it fully while it lasts, appreciating each moment of each long summer day even as we watch each day becoming a little shorter. And when these summer days are gone, let's resolve to let them to go with ease and return to the darkness with an equal sense of contentment and grace.
Come celebrate Summer Solstice with Wise Heart this Saturday: havan 4-5 p.m., kirtan 5-7 p.m. Everyone welcome!
